The Cetana Young Learners Program had its beginning at the Kyaing Tong Regional Learning Center and over the years classes in Yangon and the Dawei center were added. In Yangon a modest program at The Academy was expanded, providing grass roots programs in villages on the fringes of the city. Cetana teachers offered classes, for example, at the Myin Thar Baptist church with its student body of Burmese, Muslims and Christians, and at the Love Children Home, a children’s home for internal refugee children from areas of strife in ethnic regions.
The Kanpelet Monastic School offered teachers, students, and the children of the surrounding neighborhoods not only instruction in English but a teacher training program as well.
